Listening is Fundamental (LiF) is an immersive music series that celebrates the art of sampling and the sonic lineage of Black music. This special edition, hosted at the Newark Museum of Art, spotlights Gemini artists like Kendrick Lamar, Lauryn Hill, and 2Pac, alongside iconic duos such as OutKast, NxWorries, and Clipse—artists whose creative chemistry and storytelling have shaped the sound of hip-hop and R&B. Through curated listening rounds and interactive dialogue, guests will explore the influence, innovation, and production behind some of the genre’s most defining collaborations.
