Join us for an evening inspired by Brazil’s vibrant cultural traditions and contemporary creative scene, featuring live Brazilian music, dance, performance, poetry, art, and community vendors. From Bossa Nova and Samba to Forró and Brazilian dance, the evening brings together artists and performers for a lively night throughout the Museum.
Whether you’re coming to dance, discover new artists, enjoy live music, explore the galleries, or connect with Newark’s Brazilian community, there’s something for everyone.

Arrive, explore the Museum, visit participating artists and community vendors, and get settled for the evening.
7:25 PM — Poetry with Renata Ross
Kick off the evening with a poetry presentation by Renata Ross, a writer whose work explores ecology, Indigenous rights, and women’s protection and advocacy.

7:30 PM — Interactive Art Showcase by Madu Moreira
Experience art in the making as a participating artist creates a live painting and collage piece, inviting the audience to engage with the creative process.

7:45 PM — Drag Performance with Pietra Parker
Enjoy an energetic and inclusive drag performance featuring Pietra Parker, celebrating Brazilian-inspired expression, movement, and performance.

8:00 PM — Bossa Nova with Bárbara Ádyla
Settle in for a live Bossa Nova performance led by Bárbara Ádyla, a Brazilian vocalist and performer who is well known throughout Newark’s Ironbound community. Bárbara has performed at venues and cultural events throughout the area, including during the 2026 World Cup.

8:35 PM — Afro-Brazilian Dance Workshop with Bruno da Silva
Get moving with professional dance instructor and performer Bruno da Silva in an interactive Afro-Brazilian dance workshop featuring free movement and dance styles inspired by Bahia. No prior dance experience is necessary—come ready to move, learn, and have fun!

9:20 PM — Forrópera with Felipe Hostins & Chrystal Williams
Close out the evening with Forrópera, featuring Felipe Hostins and Chrystal Williams in a lively celebration of Brazilian musical traditions. Experience the energy of Forró and other Brazilian rhythms in a performance designed to get you moving and bring the evening to a close on a high note.
