Join us as we kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month with a fiesta!
Get ready for a celebration filled with live music, colorful dance, and a variety of activities showcasing the vibrant cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean. Bring your own blanket or chair, savor tasty treats from our food trucks, learn the choreography of different Latin dances, and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere. ¡Vamos a celebrar!
This event is for all ages. In case of rain, the event will move indoors.
Performance Timeline:
- 12-5pm – Latin house beats from DJ VidaLibre
- 1pm – Colombian Cumbia performance by Viva Vallenato Cumbia Band
- 1pm, 2pm, & 3pm – Children’s storytelling and workshop by Daniela Palacio of Para KIDS! courtesy of NJPAC
- 2pm – Soccer tricks demonstration by the New York Redbull’s Freestylers
- 2:40pm – Solo bossanova performance by Brazilian guitarist D.A. Sempre
- 3:20pm – Latin dance lessons by the Smiling David’s Dance School
- 4pm – Salsa and merengue performance by Grupo Warancho band
- 4:15pm – Dance performance by Smiling David’s Dance School
Project Ready & Mana Contemporary will be onsite to assist with voter registration. The first people to register will have the chance to join artist Bony Ramirez for a special Spanish-language tour of his exhibition Cattleya. Limited spots are available, and it’s first come, first served!
