Join us in celebrating the newly unveiled Harriet Tubman monument and the reopening of our Seeing America, 18th and 19th century galleries.

We honor women past and present on this day of dynamic programming featuring live performances, art-making activities, a fashion show, tours of the artworks, and more!

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

For centuries, people relied on the wonders of the night sky to guide them safely. Join us as we explore how enslaved people used the Big Dipper and Polaris to find their way to freedom while traveling the Underground Railroad. Created by local arts collective SQAD NWK. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Public Transportation

You can easily get to the Museum using the Newark Light Rail, getting off at the Harriet Tubman Square stop or the Washington Street stop. You can also arrive via NJ Transit heavy rail, as we are three blocks from Broad Street Station.

Driving

The Museum has a parking lot with limited space. It is $10 to park. Downtown Newark has ample on-street parking. We also recommend going to http://Parking.com and searching using the Museum’s Address, 49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ to find available parking.

Uber/Lyft

The Museum is located at 49 Washington Street. You will enter through our main entrance which faces Washington Street.
