A celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, his teachings of social justice, and service to the community.

This year’s Community Day features uplifting performances, hands-on activities, and opportunities to help others. There’s something for the whole family!

Visitors are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to support a local food bank, women’s shelter, or church.

  • St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center – Animal health benefits and food & clothing supplies

  • Sanford Angels LLC –  Blood pressure screenings and heart care
  • Brilliant Smiles Newark – Dental cleanings and fluoride treatments for children
  • Children Legal Services – Legal services for immigrants
  • RWJ Barnabus Health – Glucose and cholesterol screenings
  • New Jersey Hospital Association’s Health Research and Educational Trust – Supports uninsured New Jerseyans with learning about their health insurance coverage options and getting enrolled.
  • AYR Wellness, Blaze Responsibly, & United Community Corporation – Expungement clinic, support in cleaning up records – must register in advance here.
  • Mending Wings to Soar – Mental health professionals for adults
  • A Resting Place Counseling – Mental health professionals for adults
  • PerformCare – Children’s mental health services
