Have you ever wondered what a work of art is trying to say?
In this new take on member experiences, you will be guided in artful conversation by expert docents to uncover what lies beneath the surface of some of The Newark Museum of Art’s most beloved artworks.
Centering around the idea of home in its many manifestations and all its charms, this Members Experience is titled, “Home Is Where the Art Is.” As shelter, a source of identity, security, and comfort—a refuge from worldly care—NMOA docents Judi Robinson and Betsy Thomas will guide us on an exploration of works in our Seeing America galleries that reflect the domestic scene in a myriad of ways.
“Home is Where the Art Is” aims to delight and bring a knowing smile, even a homespun chuckle, and provide a heartwarming teaser for the much-anticipated re-opening of our beloved Ballantine House.
