Newark Moonlight Cinema, in partnership with The Newark Museum of Art, hosts an event to honor exceptional artist Bisa Butler.

The fairy-themed brunch invites you to use your wild imagination and come dressed to impress. The mission is to honor women of color in the arts who break boundaries. Bisa Butler is more than deserving of this recognition because of her ties to the Newark community as a former NPS teacher and her commitment to the culture.

Butler is a fiber artist who has created a new genre of quilting that utilizes textiles to create fine art. Her quilts are among the collections at The Newark Museum of Art, Smithsonian National Museum of African American Museum and Culture, and The Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been commissioned by Time Magazine, Essence, and The New York Times.
