Acclaimed documentary filmmaker D. Channisin Berry, born in Newark, NJ, will be in-person to present Dark Girls 2, a powerful follow-up to the highly-touted Dark Girls, and explores the prejudices darker-skinned women face around the world.
Featuring performance by Rihobot Mamo, RU-N HLLC Scholar.
Following the screening will be a panel discussion with D. Channisin Berry.
This screening coincides with Rutgers University- Newark’s Black History celebration and serves as a lead-in to the 50th annual Newark Black Film Festival (July 10-14, 2024).
