Newark Art Festival Performance
The Women of the Movements Concert will feature all Black and Latinx female classical composers in concert. The pieces featured are Nkeiru Okoye’s Three Movements for String Quartet, the Pulitzer Prize winning composer Tania León’s Esencia, selections from Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout, and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum. Members of The Harlem Chamber Players’ Quartet are violinists Ashley Horne and Claire Chan, violist William Frampton, and cellist Wayne Smith.
