FAQs Regarding Changes to the Membership Program
The Museum is transitioning to digital member cards to provide members with a more convenient, flexible, and environmentally friendly experience. Digital cards allow members to access their benefits instantly from their smartphones, receive automatic updates when memberships are renewed or upgraded, and enjoy easier access to member pricing, event registration, and online ticketing. Moving to digital cards also helps reduce plastic waste and mailing costs, allowing the Museum to direct more resources toward exhibitions, educational programs, and member experiences.
No. Your current membership remains active until its normal expiration date. The new membership structure will take effect when it is time for you to renew, and we will send you information explaining your renewal options at that time.
We recently simplified our membership structure to make joining and renewing easier and to focus more resources on exhibitions, education programs, and member experiences. Some levels were consolidated into new tiers that offer expanded benefits.
When your membership comes up for renewal, you will be able to renew at your current rate for one year and receive a complimentary upgrade:
- Dual → Family Membership
- Sustainer → Benefactor Membership
This allows you to experience the benefits of the new membership level before deciding what you would like to do in future years.
The Benefactor level was adjusted from $600 to $500 to make leadership-level membership more accessible while continuing to recognize the important role Benefactor members play in supporting the Museum. Benefits and recognition will remain meaningful and we are grateful for your continued support.
Your current benefits remain the same for the remainder of your membership term. Any new benefits will begin when your membership renews under the updated structure.
Members are welcome to upgrade at any time. Our membership team can assist you if you would like to move to one of the new membership levels before your renewal date.
