Silvia Filippini-Fantoni, PhD
Deputy Director, Learning & Engagement
Silvia Filippini-Fantoni is the Museum’s new Deputy Director of Learning and Engagement. In this role she will work closely with her team and other senior leaders to ensure the Museum fulfills its educational mission and its desire for more interactive and innovative community programming.
Silvia is a museum professional with over 18-years experience working in the areas of art, education, and historic houses. Most recently she served as Director of Programs and Audience Engagement at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC. Prior to that Silvia served in a similar capacity at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields in Indiana. She has also held a number of positions with museums across Europe as well as for organizations serving the museum industry, including at Cogapp, a digital content producer in Brighton, UK, the British Museum in London, the University Paris I-Sorbonne, and Antenna Audio in London.
Silvia has degrees in History and Aesthetics and Art Sciences from the Universita degli Studi di Milano (Italy) and the Université Paris I-Sorbonne in Paris, where she received her PhD.
