NMOA's Campus Transformation

In 2025, The Newark Museum of Art continues its commitment to both a vibrant urban community and a globally significant collection of artistic and scientific treasures. Our next chapter is focused on expanding our public role and further enhancing our Museum’s impact.

This January, we will begin a large-scale construction project aimed at revitalizing downtown Newark. The renovation of The Learning and Engagement Art Center will include new spaces and improved accessibility. Additionally, we will break ground on Museum Parc—our exciting new development that will bring residential units, public art, and gardens to our campus, creating a vibrant cultural hub for future generations to live, work, and thrive.

Since its inception, NMOA has always been at the forefront of change, from pioneering school programs to being one of the first museums to welcome children, offer extended hours, and provide multilingual labels. Our Museum has always been rooted in the needs of its community.

We will continue to update you on the progress of this transformative project as it unfolds. Thank you for your continued support as we move into this exciting new phase.
