The Magic of Spring!

Creative Play is a fun, hands-on program for children ages 2 – 5. Our museum educators lead little learners on small gallery adventures that spark imagination and inspire storytelling, followed by a simple craft that encourages creativity and play. Hummingbirds zip from bloom to bloom, and butterflies flutter like floating petals, which makes May feel extra special!

Character Meet & Greet | 12:30 pm

 

Family Drop-in | 1-4:30 pm

Let’s celebrate the season by creating art inspired by landscapes, skies, and seascapes to capture the beauty all around us! Gardens Abound with Life & Color! May is bursting with flowers, plants, and buzzing life! Let’s create a beautiful landscape drawing. Appropriate for ages 5+

 

Chronicles in Cloth: Siddi Quilting | 1-4:30 pm

Contribute to our quilt! Make a drawing or write a story on a piece of fabric. This activity is part of Chronicles in Cloth: Siddi Quilting, an innovative installation and community project in collaboration with Siddi women quilters and artist Anitha Reddy.  The Siddi of Karnataka province in India are descendants of African migrants. Quilting has long existed as a home-based practice within the community. Now through a collaborative process with Reddy, it has become a platform for artistic expression. Appropriate for ages 5+
