These hands-on activities are designed for children and their families to explore and enjoy together. We kindly ask that adults stay with their children throughout the session.
Timeline of Activities
11-11:45am | Creative Play: Line – Up & down and all around…that’s where lines can be found!
Appropriate for ages 3-5.
Location: Engelhard Court
Lines are all around us, straight, slanted & squiggly! We’ll explore how lines connect travel and intertwine in the museum’s collection. After our exploration the children will have a chance to create their own masterpiece inspired by what they have experienced.
12pm & 2pm | Planetarium Show: The Little Star That Could
Appropriate for ages 5+
Journey with Little Star as they travel through the Milky Way in search of planets and a name of their own.
1pm & 3pm | Planetarium Show: Navajo Skies
Appropriate for ages 12+
Watch and listen to a Navajo family teach their children and grandchildren about the night skies through story and music. Navajo Skies features authentic Navajo astronomy stories told in Navajo and English.
1-4pm | Family Drop-In
Appropriate for ages 5-12 and families.
Location: Engelhard Court
Our natural world is rich with limitless beauty and wonder! Join us in a search through the museum, from animals to icebergs to flowers, and be surprised by natural elements you will discover! Projects vary Saturday and Sunday.
1-4pm | Imagination Station
Appropriate for ages 5+.
Location: Engelhard Court
Join us at Imagination Station and put your creativity to the test! Design prompts change weekly.
