10am-5pm | MakerSPACE

Appropriate for kids of all ages.
A fun interactive area where kids play, tinker, and create (self-facilitated).

11:30am-12:15pm & 1:30-2:15pm | Chemical Wizardry with Dan “The Science Man” 

Appropriate for all ages.
The chemistry of Dan “The Science Man” is entertaining as well as educational. This program is designed to introduce chemistry concepts in a fun-filled style. Learning concepts included chemical reactions, atoms and bonding, and much more.

Demonstrations include:

  • Seeing the Rising “Magic Mushroom Monster”
  • Water to Grape Juice
  • The Genie in the Bottle
  • The Big Bang Sock Cannon
  • Elephant Toothpaste
  • The Electrostatic Generator
  • The Dry Ice Bubble Volcano

12pm & 2pm | Planetarium Show: Beyond the Sun 

Appropriate for ages 6+. | 25 minutes
Journey with Celeste and Moon through the Universe to discover rogue planets, oceanic worlds, and super-Earths in their search for exoplanets.

12-12:45pm | Creative Play: Chemistry Fun

Appropriate for ages 3-5.
What happens when you mix oil with water? Explore the answer before using your science knowledge to create a piece of art!

1pm & 3pm | Planetarium Show: Extreme Planets

Appropriate for ages 10+. | 32 minutes
For centuries, humanity has wondered whether we are alone in the Universe. This show explores what makes a planet “Earth-like” and tours several worlds that just might fit the conditions we’re looking for.

1-4pm | Science Drop-In: Oobleck

Appropriate for ages 5+.
Join us for some non-Newtonian fun as we make Oobleck and answer the question: Is it a solid or a liquid?

1-4pm | Family Drop-In: Owl Pellet Dissection

Appropriate for ages 5+.
Join us for an exploration of owls and their environment through dissecting and studying sanitized owl pellets. Owls are not harmed in the collection of owl pellets. Potential allergy warning: Owl pellets contain animal fur and bones.
