Timeline of Activities
10am-5pm – MakerSPACE (for kids of all ages)
Mezzanine Level, South Wing
A fun interactive area where kids play, tinker, and create.
1:30pm & 2:30pm – The Zula Patrol: Under the Weather Planetarium Show (for kids ages 5-12 and families)
3:30pm – Stars of the Pharaohs Planetarium Show (for kids ages 12+)
1–4pm – Science Drop-In:
- Thursday, August 3 – Impacts! Explore the impacts of asteroids and comets on a planet or moon by dropping marbles into a tub and make observations of the craters that form.
- Friday, August 4 – Ddakji! Can You Flip It? Build your own ddakji and explore inertia and force as you learn how to play the game!

- Thursday, August 10 – Kaleidoscopes Explore reflection and refraction of light as you create your own kaleidoscope!
- Friday, August 11 – Nebula Spin Art Discover how the most abstract objects in space get their shapes by using centripetal and centrifugal forces to create nebula spin art.
- Saturday, August 12 – Kaleidoscopes Explore reflection and refraction of light as you create your own kaleidoscope!
- Thursday, August 17 – Filtered Light Try your hand at writing secret messages as you investigate how filters can help reveal more about an image or an object.
- Friday, August 18 – Pocket Solar System Make a scale model of the distances in our solar system that fits in your pocket!
