Professional Development

The Newark Museum of Art provides professional development workshops that are instructional and hands-on in project- and object-based learning, as well as open questioning.

The goal of our professional development sessions is to share best practices in progressive educational techniques with educators and help them understand how to use authentic objects as a primary teaching resource.

Participants will receive professional development hours and a certificate of continued education.

Price: $30 per teacher for 2 hour and 30 minutes workshops; $50 per teacher for 5 hour workshops
Capacity: 25 participants max.

Social and Emotional Learning During COVID‑19

In this workshop we discuss how to be mindful of stress and loss during Covid, how to engage children over Zoom using SEL, the impact of education without human contact and addressing anxieties and triggers during Covid.
